Well done to Wingfield girls' football team who won a tournament organised by Charlton Athletic Community Trust this week.  They scored ELEVEN goals and only conceded one!

Here's the match report from the team:

When we first got into the mini-bus, we all started talking about tactics and improvements to our game play. We were so focussed that we didn't even realise that we had arrived. As soon as we stepped out of the bus, we were in utter shock when we saw the size of the ground.

After changing into our kits, we warmed up by doing drills that we'd honed previously in training. We then prepared for the matches, which each lasted ten minutes. Our first match was successful as we won 2-0. After that, we won 6-0, and even though we knew we were comfortable, we continued running and pressing until the last minute. After one of our matches, something amusing (and unfortunate!) happened when a crow stooped low and took a teammate's lunch! That didn't dampen our spirits as we continued winning our games, only conceding one goal. At the end of the tournament, we were awarded with a medal and a Charlton Football Club pencil case. Finally, we had a team photo because we won the tournament. 

We would like to say a massive thank you to Ivan and Miss. Whitaker for taking us to the event! It was a memorable day.
